Basting Weekend

Over the weekend I got both quilts basted!  Unfortunately I don't really have enough curved safety pins for two quilts, so I ended up scrounging around the house for any other safety pins.

I wish I had put the pins on the grey side, since that's the side I know how I want to quilt.  But I have a week or two to figure it out while I quilt the triangle quilt:

Decided on orange peel quilting variation for the triangles.

I'm glad these quilts are coming together relatively quick, I have so many projects to do all of the sudden!

Linking up with Plum and June!

  2. Renee, I had stopped by your blog what seemed like yesterday! You had both sides of the Texas star laid out on the floor. Now you have them pinned along with a couple other quilts! You go girl! All are beautiful! P.S. Thanks for stopping by blog and commenting on the t-shirt baseball quilt.

  3. I recently pinned the wrong side of the quilt. It wasn't that bad taking the pins out from the underside though -it only added a few minutes and I only sewed over a safety pin once...in fact the main inconvenience was the half hour I spent just staring at it not being able to believe what had just happened. I don't like basting so there was no way I was going to do it twice!

    1. Hahaha I have done nearly that exact same thing! No way was I about to un-baste and re-baste! I think I ran over two pins though, and of course ruined a couple of needles. Since this is a rather small quilt I will probably do some stitch on the pin side, then re-baste the other side.
