We are down sizing from 3100 square feet, two story house on 3.8 acres in the mountains:

To a 2100 square foot (including the sunroom), one level ranch, on a 10,000 square foot lot in the city.

In addition to all of that, we've been having a particularly hot and dry June, so motivating myself to do any sewing has been difficult. I did get to spend one nap time working on the TARDIS quilt, but only made one block. I'll try to write up a post about it soon though, it is going to be a fun quilt!
Now that moving is a reality (finally!), I have been thinking about blog changes. We will no longer be living on Sparrow Lane, so I feel that a new blog name is in order! Not sure how to make the changes yet...or what the new name will be. But I'll be sure to keep you all posted!
Aw, that's kind of sad about a changing blog name! But change is good, too :) Congrats on the selling of your old house and buying of the new one - so exciting :)!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on selling the old house - it will feel great to downsize! Enjoy your new home!

congrats on all of this. i'm excited to see if you do change the blog name. how about "bad ass free-motion quilter" no? ok, just a thought! hahahaah. i am so happy for y'all, and i can't wait to see your new sewing space. if i had to walk through that much space to get to my sewing room NOTHING would get done in the house. the hubs would never eat. hahahaha. oh, wait. nothing gets done anyway! hope you have a great week, renee!
ReplyDelete1000 square feet less to clean! All good.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the move! I hope all goes smoothly and you get settled in. I'm excited to see what changes you'll make and your new sewing room of course.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the selling and buying! Hope the transition is an easy one!
ReplyDeleteGlad your back, and congrats on selling and buying! Your new house looks great, and with a perfect sewing location as well! I just gave up with sewing in my studio and moved my machine into the kitchen!
ReplyDeleteIt all sounds wonderful! We will very soon be empty nesters, and went ahead and down-sized also. Oddly enough, our new, very much small home, has a wonderful SEWING loft. Now if I could only machine quilt as beautifully as you!!!!
ReplyDeleteWe just moved in February from an 1800 SF home (included basement where my sewing room was) in the city to an 1800 SF home on an acre in the country with no basement. Right now I am set up in the living room for sewing and master bedroom for cutting and piecing. Some time in the future hubby said he may build me a room outside! My personal blog is Purple House Quilts...I no longer live in a purple house but I like the name! Layers of Hope Quilting 911 is for the needs of others!
