Summer location for the futon.
My first quilt, ever! I made it with my mom when I was around 12/13, I think. I remember hitting up fabric shops looking for little scraps for the windows, and the ironing, and how much bigger hers turned out!
Fabric covered spools (idea from pinterest, sorry I don't have a link right now!). I plan to get a fish to put in the blender, but for now the spools look cute!
Walls on either side of the window need some mini quilts! I'm thinking of joining or starting a swap!
That wall will be my design wall once I take down that quilt to enter it in the fair at the end of the month.
From my birthday trip to the LQS--they give you a 25% discount on your birthday!
It wasn't until I had set up all the furniture and arranged things about how I wanted that I realized I didn't have a design wall! In my old sewing room I had a design floor (there was hardly any wall space due to the many windows and the slanted ceilings), so it wasn't on my list of things to have in the room. The obvious place to put a design wall is under the skylight--which is a shame because I love that area for displaying quilts! But I know it will also be a perfect play to work on quilt layouts n stuff.
And in case you forgot what the room looked like before, here are the before and afters:
Okay, enough with the painting and room posts, back to quilting! YAY!!
