Recently Vicki emailed me about my Starry Night quilt, and had a few questions about my process. We emailed back and forth as she worked on it. Well, she just finished it and said I could share her pictures with you here:
Vicki's Starry Night quilt, 93x104" |
Didn't she do an amazing job? I love her addition of the purples! Vicki said that after she pieced the top and appliqued on the moon she sent it to Lisa-Bee Wilson, of Towerhouse Quilts, to be quilted. She used a blue/silver thread on the sky and green thread on the hills.
She used the same fabric for the TARDIS light! And did a fantastic job on the signs! |
I also love the backing she chose, it works so well with the quilting lines:
Thanks again for sharing it with me, and for letting me share with my readers, Vicki! I'm so glad I could inspire and help her through making it! :-)
Oh how cool! I love the batik backing, too, but that swatch of purple makes me think of the milky way cutting through the night sky. Gorgeous and how awesome that you not only inspired this beautiful work, Renee, but answered questions to help her create it!
