Mini-mini Quilts II

Quilted paisley mini-mini quilts.  All finish under 5" x 5".

The last time I posted about my mini-mini quilts, I mentioned I'd signed up for 9 more swaps (and then I signed up for a 10th, haha).  Here are the ones I made and sent out!

Some people had requests, like red and aqua, or bright colors, or purple, while other people said anything.  Those are the ones I experimented with the most in terms of colors (like the red on grey and the orange variegated on navy below).

I used all Aurifil threads, but especially enjoyed quilting these paisleys with the variegated spools I had on hand!  Almost all of them have two layers of batting, I found this helped give it a good structure and thickness.

I've started a hashtag on IG for my quilted paisleys: #quiltedpaisley where you can see all the ones I've been making and posting photos of!

I also signed up for a Firefly themed mini-mini swap with @FlavorPink --she asked for something Inara, Zoe or River themed.  After thinking on it for about a week I made this:

"Yeah, but she's our witch" quote from Firefly, I think this one measured about 5.5" x 5"

The quote is from Firefly episode called Big Damn Heros, you can go watch the scene here.  My little quilted sketch of River is based off this photo.  I wonder if she would look better without eyes and a mouth (she really shouldn't be smiling)?  They turned out so, so bad, haha.

Whew, those are so fun to stitch up, but I am ready to get back to working on my to-do list!

  3. I love your pieced ones, especially the one you sent to Michelle, but it is good to see you using your FMQ magic on them too. The paisley patterns in variegated threads look stunning.

  11. I quite like the red and aqua one.

As for the last one, at first glances I thought the 'but she's' was one word rhyming with witches : )
